This impressive wooden Blackamoor has been carved and painted by hand. Typically Italian, these once decorated luxurious palaces by imitating servants. This one was brought from Venice in the late 1990s. A few fingers on the left hand were damaged. A luminaire made up of several branches painted orange and gilded can be placed on the head and thus make it a decorative lamp.
