19th C Gilt & Enamel Roman Catholic Monstrance

Beautiful and large roman catholic monstrance. This wonderful work of art features silver ornaments added to the main parts: The agnus Dei at the top of the cross, representations of the 4 evangelists around the luna: Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. The holy angel at the center and four saints at the bottom: Christ, the virgin Mary, St-Joseph and St Vincent de Paul.

The latin phrase “venite ad me omnes qui laboratis” appears in blue enamel around the luna. The silver luna is present, it bears the mark of French silversmith Lucie Goldstein (1896- )
