A spectacular bronze and marble inkwell on which a bronze casting representing the emperor Napoleon I is set, arms crossed and one foot against a globe. This representation of the emperor is associated with the the battle of Wagram (July 5 and 6, 1809), an Austrian village located 15 km from Vienna. Although the clock is not currently functional, this inkwell is in excellent condition with both porcelain liners and no apparent defects. France c 1880.
