Ozias Leduc, born October 8, 1864 in Mont-Saint-Hilaire and died June 16, 1955 in Saint-Hyacinthe1, was a Quebec painter, one of the most important in the history of Quebec. He was the master of artists such as Paul-Émile Borduas and Gabrielle Messier. Leduc painted many portraits, still lifes and landscapes, and did some work on religious buildings. Leduc was nicknamed “the wise man of Saint-Hilaire”.
