Female hawksbill turtle shell
Shell of female hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). It is called in English “Hawksbill turtle”. This species, now protected, was once in high demand for the manufacture of luxury objects such as jewelry boxes and hair combs, for example. This comes from a private collection and dates back around 60 years.
