Pair of decorative plates Henriot Quimper
Rare pair of hand-painted decorative plates by Henriot Quimper. These were produced for the Canadian market at the request of the Montreal retailer Ogilvy’s. One shows an Aboriginal man wearing a red wool coat with black stripes, carrying snowshoes on his back and a rifle in his hand. The other shows a mother, also wearing a long red woollen coat and carrying her child in a tikinagan behind her. Although there are a few flaws in the earthenware, these collector’s plates are in excellent condition.
