“End of the trail” bookends

Beautiful bookends cast from James Earl Frazer’s sculpture “End of the Trail.” “End of the Trail” is a piece that Fraser created in 1894, produced in 1915, and erected in the town of Waupun, Wisconsin. He later produced numerous replicas in plaster and bronze. The sculpture depicts a weary Native American man, carrying only the remains of a blanket and a spear.

This pair is made of cast iron or lightly patinated brass.
